Pansies question?

Ok I live in southern Cali, and I bought some pansies. They came in a little 6 pack of plants. When I replanted them into large pots I have outside (for a container garden) they did well for a while but despite being kept moist (not drowned) they have shriveled up. When I replanted I used that moisture control miricle grow soil, and I was very carefull to be gentle when replanting. Can they handle bright sun? Thats why I got them, I was told they were hardy. Also when repotting, are you or are you not supposed to loosen the little square soil that the roots are in (when your remove it from the little square planter, and the root ball is shaped like a square) do you loosen it up or just replant it? My other plants seem fine. Geeze I think I have a black thumb! 8::::(

Pansies question?
Pansies like it a bit chilly. They are hardy in chilly weather, like what I have now(Ohio). If you have a spot that gets shade in the afternoon, put them there. They like the early morning sun.
Reply:Heat and dryness kill them. I was told not to expect them to last longer than through the spring. At the garden center, they told me they shrug off freezing and snow, but can't take heat.
Reply:They don't need to much water, you may be over watering. Stick your finger into the dirt down to your second knuckle, if it's dry water otherwise no. When you buy them in the 6 pack you just take it out keep it all together don't break up the small cube of dirt and replant.

Wouldn't the people of the Greatest Generation be ashamed at the defeatists in America today?

The people of the Greatest Generation helped make America the society it is today. They would be sickened by the great amount of communists and traitors in American society today. One of my forefathers fought in WWII because he loved this country.

The Greatest Generation weren't whiners, they weren't pansies - they all just pitched in and got the job done. The military certainly didn't take it's orders from the ACLU. They built domestic detention camps, fire-bombed Dresden, obliterated Berlin, nuked Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The war cost the USA 500,000 of her bravest sons. Not one spouse or parent betrayed their country and demanded a 'meeting' with the President.

What would these great patriots have done with the likes of 'leaders' such as Harrd Reid (told the military, "You're risking your lives for nothing"), John Murtha (called the Haditha Marines “cold-blooded” murderers and condemned them as guilty without a trial), Dick Durbin (compared the US military to Nazis)?

Wouldn't the people of the Greatest Generation be ashamed at the defeatists in America today?
My father who fought valiantly and proudly in ww 2 would be so humiliated and ashamed of the defeatocrat party..my father was a democrat and I am sure he would feel so betrayed..rest in peace dad.
Reply:I think they would be scracthing their head in wonder at the decisions our president has made.

They would wonder why our borders remain open 6 years after 9/11.

They would wonder why al Qaeda is as strong or stronger than it was on 9/11 after spending hundreds of billions of dollars fighting in Iraq.

They would wonder why we could possibly choose Iraq out of all of the "terrorist" countries.

They would wonder if their fight for the freedoms that Americans enjoy are being lost because of decisions of the Bush administration and Homeland Security.

Fighting Nazi Germany is not the same as fighting terrorists spread across the world. I think these men and women that fought in WWII realize the difference.
Reply:They would wonder why nobody listened to their hero "Ike" when he warned us about the great industrial military complex.
Reply:I think they would have started a Mob and you would have seen a hanging.
Reply:There were anti war activists during WW11 just as there are now, the difference being, they were ignored by the general public. All Americans during that time felt they were part of a the war effort because we were asked to sacrifice things, like rubber tires for tank tires, women's stockings for the nylon to make parachutes, and butter for the war effort., and we were asked to invest in the effort by buying War Bonds. When people participated in the war effort they felt apart of it.

I do think the Greatest Generation would be dismade at the political climate. I have not know another time in history when the President was so disrespected by the opposition party. The Democrats declared war on Bush before he took office, so no matter what decisions he has made the Dems. have opposed them. They quickly forgot that Bill Clinton stated there WMDs in Irag, and Saddam needed top be overthrown, so did the UN and all of the Security Counsel. However, when we went to war because of that info, Bush lied. Go Figure !!!

Murtha and Reed should be tried for treason, because they have undermined this war effort at every turn It is impossible to run a politically correct war, as we are discovering, and if the Democrats get into office, we will put out tail between our legs and whimp home, only to have the War on Terror change venues and come here to our shores.

God Bless our Military and God Bless America

Are most user on here a bunch of pansies?

lol if it earns me 10 pts, i will agree with you and say yes, they definitely are pansies

Are most user on here a bunch of pansies?
no they're "sensitive"

Why KG is better than Kobe...not a question...want some opinions?

since Alpha Wolf and KING are being pansies and getting into it over the net, i'll start something out of boredom...Kevin Garnett is better than Kobe, for many obvious reasons...i can't believe someone like Charles Barkley would say that he is arguably the best in the league right now...no...he just scores alot of points from alot of places...even winning for his team is not an argument...two straight series lost in the post season, to the same team (granted they are the Suns), and Kobe went from scorer, to assist man, to ron artest, and nothing worked..he became inconsistent and, couldnt win...but that's not it...off the court, he's been sued (she was playing him tho), he's gotten in to Phil Jackson's face (made him leave one season), and now he's lost the loyalty of his fans by DEMANDING a trade, for what, ever? Now KG, consistently averaging double doubles, at least since 04, never had beef w/ Flip, never "raped" NE1, n had MIN behind him the whole way, never wanting to leave.et tu?

Why KG is better than Kobe...not a question...want some opinions?
Wrong!! Guess what 7 All-NBA Defensive 1st Team designations mean? Answer: It means that Kobe Bryant is not just a scorer, he plays spectacular defense, averages more assist, more steals, and more points per game then Kevin Garnett. These are career totals by-the-way. If you eliminate the first two years of Kobe's career due to lack of playing time (he was 17-18 years old), his stats are amazing. I, however, am not someone who relys on just stats - we all know how deceiving they can be. Who would you rather have the ball at the end of the game? Your obvious "anti-Kobe" feelings may cloud your opinion, but I think deep down you'd prefer #24. Kevin is a temendous talent and I'm a big fan. He's 7ft. tall, he's suppose to get 10+ rebounds a game, and he's the star of his team, he's suppose to average more than 10 points a game. Kobe has made the play-offs with subpar talent around him 2-years straight, and single-handedly put his team on his back the last 3 months of this past season to ensure a play-off birth (multiple 50+ game performances/averaged 40+ points per game in the month of March). Yes, they got beat (never swept) by the Suns both years, but you'd expect that. The Suns had the second best record in the dominate West last year, and the best the year before. One "player", regardless of how spectacular he is and how hard he may try, can not beat a better "team" in a 7-game series. Kevin, on the other hand, has not been able to get it done (how many years in a row?) Yes, he too has subpar talent around him, but he's never shown that he can put a team on his back and single-handedly get them into the playoffs. Now on to the alleged rape case...you should really spend some time reading the information that came out in the case against Kobe before you make accusitory comments. If you did, you would have discovered that the alleged-victim had another man's (I'll just say DNA) on her an her under clothes when she was examined by doctors the next morning after the alleged attack. She also got off work 3 hours before Kobe arrived at the hotel, but stuck around to meet him and offered to take him for a tour (off the clock). She sent/received several text messages to/from a male friend the night of the alleged attack, and when Kobe's attorney's subpoenaed those text records, the alleged-victim dropped the case. Sounds like a set-up to me!!?? There's nothing wrong with having an opinion, we're all entitled. It would just be more legitimate if there was some merrit behind it. I do, however, have a problem with people such as yourself, who presume guilt before knowing all the facts or before a person is convicted. Biasness is not the best way to base an opinion.
Reply:Kevin Garnett is a great player but he is no Kobe Bryant. Kobe is better offensively and defesively plus he is what KG isn't..........................CLUTCH.

I understand why you would think what you think but face fact KG is no Kobe that's why it's so difficult to trade Kobe because it's almost impossible to get at least equal value.
Reply:their both great players. u can't say who better than who when they both don't even play the same position. u stupid for postin this.
Reply:I don't think so. Kobe, as much of a puss as he is, can carry an average team to the playoffs by playing selfish ball. KG needs help. Both in the top 5 best right now though.
Reply:Hes not. KOBE is the GREATEST
Reply:im sure you are just bored and you are trying to start something. But Kobe is better then KG. KG isnt a top 10 player. how many times did they go to the playoffs how many times did they win a playoff game what really has KG one. Yes Kobe is the best in the game right now. Either him or the NBA FINALS MVP Dwayne Wade but only that guy that had those 4 great games if he played like that all the time he would be the best. Kobe has no one on the Lakers the suck. Yes i am a Lakers Fan. Kobe isnt going to be traded he will retire as a LAKERS player. He wants better players. Jordan didnt win without pippen and Phil and all the other players around him. Look at the roster from the years they won the championships. They were stacked they had so many good players, great role players they had everything they needed.
Reply:I love Kobe, but he's not 6-11, doesn't average 20 and 12, and has too much baggage to go along with his game. Kevin Garnett was in a horrible situation in Minnesota. He never once voiced the media his displeasure. He never once demanded a trade then said he doesn't want one then two days later demand one again.

He's one of the best forwards of all-time.. He'll now have the chance in Boston to not have to carry the load. He's always been a team first guy, always had a great head on his shoulders, and always put up numbers that led or was among the leaders in the league.
Reply:ok m8 kobes outside/private life doesnt have any thing to do with his basketball ability quite francly . Kobe has won the nba something kg will never do with boston he is a great alll round player if u compre the sttistics of the two from the last 2 season kobe has everything above garnett acceptfor rebounds so ive told ya the official stats kobe bryant is better maybe not in your opinion but in the officil nbas opinion and they have proff kobe is the best all round player in the nba last 2 yrs hopefully no offence was taken sorry if ant as have a nice day
Reply:KG will be a legend, and hes a class act.

I thank his service on behalf of all in minnesota.

Im sad to see him leave, but at the end of the day he deserves a ring, and i hope boston gets him there..

Because sadly, we couldnt in minnesota.

Is Kobe a great player ? yes

can he outscore KG? yes

But is he someone i would want on my team? heck no..

if he had the talent the wolves had around KG, he probally would have just quit playing basketball.. which says alot about KGs character because he didnt whine about his team, he tryed to motivate the timberwolves, albeit it failed, he never quit trying in 12 years.

P.S.

KG is a class act,

Kobe could take a que from KG in the role model department, no question about it.
Reply:all you need to know is that we don't like kobe because he raped the girl. case closed. has nothing to do with mj, garnett, or anybody else. can you possibly understand that? is you skull just full of concrete?

What has happened to GREAT Britain? Iran? Come on!?

Great Britain was once a paragon of strength and Christian solidarity. However, it seems that the insidious liberal virus of Europe has begun to infect the British Isles. In reading all of the posts here about the captured British sailors, I am seeing a disturbing amount of British posters whining and complaining and seeking a "diplomatic" way out.

When will you liberals begin to understand that Muslims and other therrorists of similar ilk absolutely rely on liberal pansies to continue their ridiculous shenanigans. A serious show of strength is all it will take for Britain to take back their sailors from Iran and to show the Muslim terrorist world that the West is not to be trifled with.

I assure you that Churchill would not be mamby pampying around about this issue...

Be strong Britain and remember the Roman, Celtic, and Danish roots that have made you the fiercest island nation in the history of the world!

What has happened to GREAT Britain? Iran? Come on!?
is there a point to all of that? it is a nice opinion, but what is your question?

What happened to Rock and Roll?

Rock music used to be loud and in your face. It was rebellious, dangerous and over the top. Groups like Megadeth, Def Lepard and Ozzy was what rock was all about. Now its just about a few wussies whining about their girlfriends. How and why did it stray so much. Yeah Nirvana was good but it turned the rock fans into pansies.

What happened to Rock and Roll?
You're throwing a loaded question out there for us. We could go even further and ask what happened to all of the garage bands of the 60's, etc, etc, etc. None of the three bands with a minor exception to Ozzy would be anywhere near my list of "what rock was all about". All three pretty much hit the mainstream and have generally faded in terms of popularity because tastes and trends have changed over time. Most rock fans would cite Ozzy's best work was with Black Sabbath. Megadeth's popularity peaked in part due to a general shift in rock music. While music may change quite a bit bands that are transitional tend to strike the historical chord moreso than those who follow in the wake.

Nirvana was a transition out of 80's hair bands, Green Day transitioned so-cal punk and brought a slough of bands up with them to the mainstream. Music is largely cyclical and while I agree with you that most music you hear on the radio is pooh, there's still a few bands worthy of merit out there that are not singing about their girlfriends.

Consider that the White Stripes were riding the tail end of the garage rock revival, bands like the Faint rode the 80's synth revival, Wolfmother and the Strokes are geared more towards 70's revival.

Other bands that are worth their weight in gold never break into the mainstream but are rock from sun up to sun down, from year to year: Steve Albini has carried his sound from Big Black to Shellac on the back of his Travis Bean - while the sound has changed, it is still what rock was and what it is and what it should be.

The music is still there, you just have to be willing to look for it. I would suggest going to Pandora.com radio, typing in a few bands and see what comes up - you'll be surprised at what is new and what is old that you may have missed.

I've found the better adventure is finding all of the music that I was missing growing up.
Reply:def lepard and ozzy r 2 much 4 2days groups 2 live up to. no one would listen 2 it cuz its just not the same. ima teen and i love rock and roll but if sum new group 2day tried 2 play rock and roll it wouldnt be as good.the 60s-80s was the rock n roll era and now its the rap and emo and punk era.
Reply:Rock and Roll will one day find its way back to the top

i am a HUGE classic rock fan

I hate rap because a lot of songs are nasty

Long live rock and roll

cheers to Freddie Mercury, Randy Rhodes, and Jimi Hendrix
Reply:check out some bands like wolfmother and black rebel motorcycle club
Reply:You got me chef, i dunno what the hell happened either! Evolution and direction of the music industry i guess , ....though i can't stand where it's taken us to. ....For me , i decided to chuck it all and go back and rediscover what lit my fire the first time, which meant breaking out all my old Queen , Thin Lizzy , Def Leppard , UFO , Sweet , etc. albums .....and i'm ok with that. Screw modern pop rock radio!
Reply:It died away after the 80's and when hip-hop/rap came around strong and in your face. Ewww...
Reply:I wish I knew. A lot of once-good bands and artists who used to play rock like it should be- loud, up-beat and catchy, are now coming out with stuff that's more likely to put one to sleep.

Like many other answerers, most of the rock CDs I listen to now are my old ones.
Reply:Dude, Music is Music.Giving it a name is so stupid.Wether it be Rock and Roll,Metal,Hard Rock,Punk Rock,Emo,Goth Rock, or Whatever. It's music and it impacts people thru the way it's expressed. It's all the same S**T cause it has all had a impact on culture.
Reply:It's hiding from the emos.
Reply:You got a point, all these new bands sound exactly the same to me...like they paid the same guy to sing in every freaking group...and yeah nirvana was good..but look what it did to us!
Reply:Nirvana killed Heavy Metal. But years later Heavy Metal started making a come back, with Kid Rock, Korn, Slipknot, and Limp Bizket. So, I don't know what happened. You either have to listen to 35 year old classic rock or try to find a few good bands of today, which is very hard to do.
Reply:It's still out there, it's just gotten harder to find.
Reply:cry, cry... :( we can still live with punk and emo... but still...
Reply:these new bands are trying to capture that sound to me is jus plain uncreative and almost poser like but there are lot of diffrent metal bands out nowadays you jus have to look at avenues of a musics genere. to its like alot of people are in bands in this generation of ours but theres a few people today who are musicians, they might not be the most popular or the next big thing, but they are there you jus have to take a listen and decide for yourself.
Reply:I have to agree.. I don't really care for much of today's music (and I'm only 18!!).. Classic rock is the BEST!!!!
Reply:I don't know, I gave up trying to listento the radio a dozen years ago.

As for the bands mentiones: Megadeth is was still out there lobbying bombs at the powers that be until this year's United Abomination, which sounds like Fox News is startings its own label. Love Ozzy, but he's pretty much a muppet now. Def leppard sold out in 87, setting a template for metallica. I never cared for nirvana; just never saw what the hoopla was all about.

I have a ? about names?

i want to name my baby j-lynn pansy jean do u consider pansy a bad name every one says it means wimp and i shouldnt name it that? can anyone help

I have a ? about names?
I wouldn't do it....if you want a flower, use daisy.....pansy is setting your kid up for trouble. I agree with strong names, however you can have a good strong name and still be different. My kids (both boys) are Daxton Russ and Tracen Jay. If I ever had a girl, she would be Satie. Best wishes, it all comes down to you....you're the parent!
Reply:Just be sure to poke your baby every day..so she'll be used to it by the time she's in school.

Kidding.

But pansy does leave a wide open space for teasing, though.
Reply:Hahaha. DO NOT USE PANSY. That would be absolutely evil and he would be forever scorn and made fun of throughout school. And what if he turned out gay? The irony would be unbearable.
Reply:I wouldnt use it but thats just me. Is it Jalen? It would be better to spell it that way. Just dont try to go to outrageous with the spelling. And maybe do away with Jean if the first name starts with a J also.
Reply:yes i consider it a bad name

and if that whole thing is her first name, its kinda long
Reply:GOD IHATE PEOPLE WHO GIVE KIDS STYLISH NAMES. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE DAYS WHEN WE HAD STRONG NAMES. I NAMED MY SON MATTHEW AND MY SECOND WILL BE MICHAEL.
Reply:Well unless you naming your boy that lol. It's the name of a flower and its pretty. I thinks its perfectly ok to name a girl. It only matters what you think anyway if you like it and are satisfied go for it.
Reply:it's not a bad name...... but on my personal preferences don't like it much

I was wondering where in our constitution does it say we have a right to not be offended ?

why is there so much political correctness ...has The U.S. become a nation of weenies wusses and pansies...this nation was founded on blood ,sweat , raw guts and ingenuity... did we use it all up?

I was wondering where in our constitution does it say we have a right to not be offended ?
People nowdays feel it is their God given right to always feel good and be happy, and everyone must make sure to accommodate them. They think this "pursuit of happiness" thing means they are guaranteed happiness. Incorrect. Instead, they are guaranteed to not be hindered in their pursuit. So yes, you are correct, PC culture is destroying our nation and making it weaker
Reply:PC my a*s. The political right can dish it out but can't take it.
Reply:I've read the Constitution very carefully. I haven't found such a clause. I'm faitly sure that there is no such clause in the Constitution of the USA. Maybe it's in some state constitutions.
Reply:It doesn't say it anywhere.
Reply:This is a kind of mindless rant. I can't even tell what you're complaining about, except "political correctness." So, ....... you want to offend other people? Calling the majority of Americans "weenies, wusses, and pansies," is a good way to offend people.

Congratulations, you do have the right to offend people. You've done so right here.

But in the meantime, I wish I knew what's upsetting you.
Reply:That is where the constitution went No Due process Law ?

Unless you can afford it in a secret War ?
Reply:I agree... but there aren't any PC laws last time I checked... so no one has to be PC

where does it say in the Constitution that someone can't be PC if they want to be?

sorry if it "offends" you that they are PC...
Reply:People are too easily bored and need something to complain about. If it sounds mildly offensive you better believe that someone would be more than happy to point it out... We have lost our balls and now we have to pussyfoot around all the issues because some people cant deal with it because they are weak and even though it may not offend them, they will pretend because it could get them retributions. Like sueing a school because they teach evolution or sueing the state because the state flag has "God" in it. Please people. Get over it, no one cares.

and yeah I said pussyfoot, you wanna get offended?
Reply:It doesn't say it anywhere in the Constitution. And, frankly, it's not really the courts who are driving political correctness. It's the media. Actually, you can't be sued for calling someone a name, even a racially motivated one (unless you employ that person). But people won't like you too much if you call someone a name, so people are scared to do it. Moreover, employers and landlords are so scared that the person, either an employee or a tenant, will sue and then lie about what the employer or landlord did, that employers and landlords will go overboard to avoid a suit, which causes folks to be even more politically correct. And even if the employer or landlord or other person wins the suit, it costs so much in legal fees that a win isn't worth it, so most of them settle. Moreover, suits have an emotional toll that people don't want to be involved in. In my opinion, political correctness is based on a desire for power by the formerly powerless and based on the lies of the formerly powerless.

But no matter how much raw guts you have, lawsuits are scary and cost a lot.
Reply:Obviously that does not appear in the Constitution, for good reason. I agree about political correctness has gone too far, and I believe most of the country feels the same way. The pendulum will swing back sooner or later.
Reply:you are allowed to get offended, it doesnt say anywhere we have a right to not be offended and about ur question second part so whats your point

Why won't people stand up for themselves?

people on here keep giving answers that make them look like cattle.stand up you pansies tell me what you think of our government....

Why won't people stand up for themselves?
CORRUPT. But I guess that makes me a whiny liberal. Oh well, whine on I say. Anyone have any cheese?

Totally pathetic.
Reply:you only want to hear from people who share your opinion so why don't you have the balls to admit it. our govt.may have its flaws but is still the best in the world.
Reply:I think our government is corrupt and favors those who sit on their asses. I can work all year and have taxes taken out which is money that I need yet if you sit on your A$$ and have kids then you get back a couple of thousands. And welfare who created this biasis bullshit I mean really you encourage lazy individuals to be even lazier. Let's not forget the pre-existing condition clause the government madates on insurance claims...Well stop taking all my damn money..
Reply:Sux, but don't know who or what would make it better.
Reply:our government sucks big time and if i met geoge bus or tony blair i would certyanly say whats on my mind.

i'm no pussy and certanly not a cow.
Reply:Where do you live? I'm assuming the States? Well your Government isn't perfect but you have no idea how lucky you are....let me leave it at that!
Reply:Try standing up to any government agency, State or Federal and see how far you get. Has any one ever tried to sue either branch of government for the wrongs they are doing?? Bet you wont get anywhere. I personally think our government stinks big time. But my opinion and $1.00 may buy you a cup of coffee. The welfare system isn't working. You have 2nd and 3rd generations raised on welfare. You have healthy young people who refuse to work. Why? They will lose their free rent and if they have 3-4 children in the home, they lose their $300.00-$600.00 worth of food stamps. I work 2 jobs and I'm eaten up in taxes. Every year I have more taken out so I don't have to pay at the at tax time. So why don't people stand up themselves? It don't do any good?
Reply:Plain ol lazy or fear. They need reinforcement or backup most of the time. Usually too lazy or fearful
Reply:Personally, I don't think we have a "corrupt" government. I think America is one of the greatest countries in the world and that's why so many people fight trying to come here. We are a diverse society and everyone has an opinion, belief, thought, etc., and fortunately for us all... even if it may not "jive" with what everyone else thinks; that's still cool. But's the the beauty of it... I know I certainly wouldn't want to live in a country where I'm BRAINWASHED into believing certain ways. I like that I can speak my mind, believe what I want and not have to worry about being run over by army tanks in my day to day living. So what if we ALL don't agree on everything... I'd rather have THIS government then any other one.

Kicked off? Ever got reported for disagreeing?

I can't believe the pansies on this web site.

Kicked off? Ever got reported for disagreeing?
it happens. if by calling people who disagree with you names, then I can see why. keep it respectful and you wont have anything to worry about.
Reply:If the language of your disagreement was respectful, then I suspect you disagreed with a liberal. The powers that be on Yahoo are very slanted. They removed a question that had violated no terms of conduct and never would tell me why they removed the question. Usually, I can ask or answer what I want, but...

...however, if you are falling into the trap of emotionally charged language, tone it down - it doesn't solve anything. If your intellect is strong enough, you don't need it.

Are Americans getting more pathetic everyday?

By golly, Americans seem to be more limp wristed every year. All this talk of rights never even mentioned in any American document. Seriously, I'm only 26, and I'm seeing a whole generation of apathetic wimps coming. This generation could not win WW2. You bleeding hearts are a disgrace to the strong men who built this nation. Your grandparents wouldn't have had kids if they knew what pansies you'd become

Are Americans getting more pathetic everyday?
come on out of the closet..it is OK to be 'out' these days...no need to vent.
Reply:I kinda agree. This nation is becoming much like wimps and is not the liberals' fault but everybody's fault. I think that people are seriously cowards but I think there is a chance that we might become more stronger.

Anyone else looking forward to the Indianapolis Colts ...?

Anyone else looking forward to the Indianapolis Colts suffering a losing season? O.K. let's hear from Peyton's Pansies Fan Club. I tried all off- season to sell my house and move from Indy (because of the Colts and outrageous property taxes) couldn't close the deal. Now I'm phucked here for another season. Go BEARS!!!

Anyone else looking forward to the Indianapolis Colts ...?
I would love to see Peyton have a horrible season. He just makes fun of the everyday person in the stupid credit card commercials. I cannot stand that team. Tony Dungy was the only person on that team that I feel deserved a championship. I can't agree on the bears but i like them a hell of a lot more than indy. GO STEELERS!!!
Reply:Must have sucked to be you during the super bowl last year. Good to see you arent bitter though.

Would you rather be 5"2 or 6"2 if you had to choose between the two??

Don't say neither.

Don't say another height.

Don't be a pansy.

maybe.

Would you rather be 5"2 or 6"2 if you had to choose between the two??
Six two!!! You have a lot of answers here, but I have to chime in. I would love to be an Amazon! Both my parents were five eleven and I expected to be taller than my five eight. I never go anywhere with out heels on. I don't care what men want tiny women, I like the ones who like big girls. I love love love my platform shoes! Someone recently told me that I was larger than life at my wedding, I was so flattered. If you want to try being tall, indulge your self in a fabulous pair of high shoes, they sell the best ones at stripper stores. Take care.
Reply:6'2 definitely. I wish I were taller, I am only 5'7/5'8but with heels on I'm nearly 6ft :-)#

wow I'm surpried how many women would like to be short. As a teenager I was very tall for my age and it was great! But then they caught up with me and I'm onl yaverage. I love towering over people and unfrtauntely my husband is 6'4 so makes me feel short...
Reply:I'm the runt in my family. It has always bothered me that I could not have been as tall as my mother. She was lovely at a little over 6' 4". I am only 6'. It is all certainly a matter of perspective, isn't it? I can barely kiss my son on his neck (sugar) even standing on my toes. I would like to be a few inches taller, just as soon as stem cell catches up with my dreams. Then, I could easily kiss him on his cheek. : )
Reply:I am 6'2" so I don't need to choose! but if i was 5'2" and born in Sparta I would have been discarded :-D
Reply:I'm 5'6" and my room mate is 6'2" she has alot easier time reaching things that are high up. That's the only reason I'd rather be taller.
Reply:seeing how I have been 5'4" most of my life and I am a guy (i have nothing against my height) I would like to try the 6'2" please.... :)
Reply:5/2" then I could wear high heels
Reply:5"2

infact am short of 1" to your height but my man is 6"5.

see? height doesn't matter gurl. Be at peace with it %26amp; make the most of what you have. Everything has a reason. Take that to your advantage. Cheers!
Reply:6 2" im already 5 2" and im one of the sortest kids in my class.
Reply:I'm 5'2. I'm perfectly happy where I'm at.
Reply:Well, as a man, i'd probably wanna be 6'2, then again, i'm 15 and i'm 6 foot even, so i stil have loads of growing ahead, so i'm probably gonna get my wish, at least.

My whole family is tall, we only have one male who's below 6 foot, and he's 5'11
Reply:5'2"
Reply:OK, 6'2" then.
Reply:I'm 5'3", so I don't think I'd mind being 5'2". I'd choose that over 6'2"
Reply:I'm 5'1" now, so I'd be fine with 5'2". As a woman I would not want to be 6'2". I like gazing up into my man's eyes. If I were a guy, I'd want to be 6'2".

There are lots of good things about being short. Be happy with who you are.
Reply:6'2" would be awesome! Then I wouldn't have to stand on a step stool to kiss my 6'4" honey! As it is, I am a foot shorter and have to stand on tip toes, and then he has to lean. By the time we retire, he'll have a bad back and I'll have a bad neck. Plus, my weight would be much more appropriate, lol!
Reply:Being a man, I'd definitely prefer to be 6'2".

For women, I can see the appeal of being 5'2" because it's cute for women to be small. But for a man, it's cooler and considered more attractive and better in all sorts of ways to be taller.
Reply:I'd be 6'2". Women would rather date a tall man. As for you, I know plenty of men who wouldn't date a 6'2" woman. But I don't know anybody that wouldn't date a 5'2" woman.
Reply:As a woman, I would prefer to be 5'2" than over 6 foot. If I were a man, I would rather be taller.

In reality, I am 5'8", and have always been happy with my height.
Reply:5"2 is too short and 6"2 is too tall but if i had to choose it would be 6"2. Not that id want to be that tall but it would be better then being really short!
Reply:I'm 5'9" and being 6'2" would be cool... I wouldn't look as fat if I were 4 more inches taller....lmao
Reply:I'm taller than 6'2", and I like it just fine, so 6'2" would be alright. I could see 5'2" having its advantages though, low ceilings are kind of the bane of my existence.
Reply:6'2". I'm 5'9 right now and like being tall.....so taller would be okay.
Reply:5"2. everytime. then id be all littler and cute.
Reply:5"2 because i have more opportunities to meet guys. lol
Reply:5''2', I'm a girl!! 6''2' would be giant!!

In reality, I'm 5''5', and I wouldn't mind being a bit taller, but not that tall.
Reply:I'm already shorter than 5' 2", and I'm pretty much used to it. I wouldn't enjoy towering over all my friends.
Reply:Actually, 6'2" isn't much taller than I am right now so I would rather be that height because I'm more used to it than being shorter.
Reply:5'2" would be GREAT! I'm 5 foot....nothing, and very happy with it. My only problem is having to hem every pair of pants I own...and reaching things. But there is typically a chair near by or some kind tall person. I like it quite a bit.

They call me f@g, pansy, and a bunch of ther names and also shove me around sometimes!

Do you agree with this quote from J.K Rowling? About FAT as an insult.?

I found an article on her website and I had not thought about it all in this way before. I'd like your opinions too.

… Is fat worse than ‘vindictive’, ‘jealous’, ‘shallow’, ‘vain’, ‘boring’ or ‘cruel’?…

I don’t want them (her daughters) to be empty-headed, self-obsessed, emaciated clones; I’d rather they were independent, interesting, idealistic, kind, opinionated, original, funny – a thousand things before ‘thin’. … Let all my girls be Herminones rather than Pansy Parkinsons….

J.K. Rowling from http://www.jkrowling.com/en/

Do you agree with this quote from J.K Rowling? About FAT as an insult.?
What a wonderful quote. I hadn't heard that. She is a wondeful writer. Sadly a lot of girls are made fun of in school if they don't fit a certain image. A girl doesn't even have to "fat" she can be like 5 lbs over from where she thinks that she should be and feel fat. You think about some of those skinny model types at school who think that they are better than everyone else, I agree wih J.K. Rowling I would rather be "fat" than a stupid, mean girl.
Reply:So she would rather her daughters showed no self control when it comes to food?
Reply:She doesnt know what she is saying.
Reply:I'm afraid that everyone thinks something is "the worst".

actually nothing matters in the great scheme of things.

people ,just survive this trail of tears and stop worrying about inconsequential things.
Reply:She isn't discussing 'fat' as an insult. She is discussing various flaws that people should work to avoid, and pointing out that flaws of character are worse than flaws of appearance, such as being fat.

Hmmm.. for some reason cant drink beer?

I don't have a problem drinking liquer or malt beverages but for some reason i am unable to drink beer. I go to a party and all they have is beer so i attempt to drink it and once it touches my lips i get sick to my stomach, so i continue drinking it so i dont look like a pansy.but the only way to get it down my throat is by tightening all my neck muscles. its like my body rejects it. im not sure if im allergic to the hops in it or what , any ideas of what the deal is?

Hmmm.. for some reason cant drink beer?
Don't drink it -- if you don't like it or whatever, it is lame to try. Bring your own booze.
Reply:If you don't like drinking it, than don't!! Bring liquor with you so you won't have to drink beer. Sometimes, when you're used to liquor than beer is really nasty.
Reply:Some one has sliped you an anti-beer mickey. The effects should wear off in a week or two if they don't give you a second dose!
Reply:Could it be that maybe you don't like non sweet drinks? My girl can't drink anything that doesn't taste like Kool Aid. The hardest thing she drinks is Hpnotiq, and to me that tastes like Kool Aid too. I used to not like beer (a LONG time ago), but it was only cuz I preferred sweet drinks. I eased into it by drinking mimosas (orange juice and dry champagne). I gradually made the mimosas stronger, then I started drinking dry champagne without the OJ. I got used to the champagne and gradually started trying beer. It took a while, but I grew to have an appreciation for champagne and beer. Beer is my favorite alcoholic drink now. I love trying all sorts ales, lagers and pilsners, and being able to appreciate their different flavors whether they be simple or complex brews. Beer is great if you're able to develop a taste an appreciation for it.
Reply:You're missing out on on eof life's finest treats. But dont worry because some people are just allergic to certain substances so we must all make the best of what we are able to enjoy and embrace individuality.
Reply:Go see an allergist or a dr
Reply:Did you have some bad expereince with beer in the past? This sounds like it might be a psychological thing.
Reply:what kind is it?
Reply:it is possible to be allergic to certain kinds of beers. try sampling different beers with different mixtures of hops, barley, malt, etc.

also, if you've had one really bad experience with beer (or anything for that matter) your body will create a defense mechanism to keep you from repeating this experience. for all your body knows that could very well be poison that your drinking and it will therefore do everything it can to keep you away from it. overcoming this reaction is a mind over matter sort of affair, so try building up a gradual tolerance to it.

Is there an easy way out?

so many of my friends have tried to commit suicide...is that the easy way out? is that a good idea? i am not suicidal i am just curious because personally i find it to be the pansy way out (no offense if you are suicidal)

Is there an easy way out?
you are so rite it is the pansy way out, Sounds like u have a good mind %26amp; a good head on ur shoulders maybe talk w/counselor @ shool over some anti-suicide seminars !! :)d
Reply:When a person commits suicide, they are technically mentally ill.

Suicidal people have lost all hope. It is as if they are actually in a deep, deep well with utter blackness around them. They may see a small point of light way above them as a way out, but they have lost all hope of ever reaching it. They feel totally trapped in time and space. So they free themselves in what they believe is the only way they have - they kill themselves.
Reply:suicide is never the way out. something will allways come along.
Reply:No becasue it is just ending your life because of stress. God put every human on earth for a reason. and it will also cause their family alot of stress and pain
Reply:Easy on who?????????

maybe for the person if they succeeded but what about the people that love them is it easy for them? NO!

for the people that didn't succeeded then its never easy for them because yhey have to carry that guilt around and now they have a bigger problem than the first....it is a corward's way out!
Reply:Why would they try that? that is the cowards way out. They are not strong enough to face life, I have no sympathy for people who take their own lives, sorry
Reply:its good to commit suicide coz, 1)It shows how stupid u are and 2)it makes your eulogy cool as in people take you as a loser and laugh at the fallen fool.
Reply:N00000. THAT iS N000T AN EASY WAY 0UT!!! its just a way people think they should end their life since most of the time others treat them like theyre dead anyway... but never! we have life for a reason... T0 LIVE IT, go through struggles, but learn from them and GR0W!!!!
Reply:Guess it is the easy way out, but out to where.... maybe that place will be worse than here who knows? I just think you can get over most of life's problems so i just carry on anyway
Reply:SUICIDE is NOT the answer to anything. People who commit it don't realize that it does not solve anything and only causes SOOO much pain to the people they leave behind.
Reply:no its a cop off

but fair play to people who went threw with it i couldnt

but no i think your stronger for livingso yes pansy way out
Reply:People commit suicide for many different reasons. But the it's always because they can't think of anything better. They need a reason to go on with life. Life gets tough sometimes very tough. Mostly they need a friend who will listen and show compassion for them.

The best thing you can do for ANYONE friend or not is to open your heart to them. If you're not willing to help find someone who is.

Only do drugs ONCE. Then what is the harm?

If I go to a party and smoke, (for the first time) (some sort of drug) and then thats it, just get high once, then what's so bad about that?

i want answers from someone with experience, not some pansy.

Only do drugs ONCE. Then what is the harm?
not too much harm, just depends on what you smoke. If you just smoke weed, then there's really no harm at all. but if you smoke something more serious, then there could be a lot of harm. Many things are very addictive, but marijuana isn't really so much. If its your first time, then I would stay just stick to weed. You don't usually get sky high your first time smoking it, unless you do a TON. a ton a ton. It also doesn't impair your judgments and abilities as much as many other drugs do, also.
Reply:Because you can easily get hooked!
Reply:The harm is depending on what you're smoking you could become addicted and create a big problem for yourself.
Reply:don't, honestly it just gets easier to justify doing it again and again. Trust Me!
Reply:you'll most likely get addicted to whatever you smoke.
Reply:Remember the first time can be the best experience you have and sometimes the worst if you dont know whats going on, because the first time can be FUN you may end up doing it again!
Reply:because my mum did that

then she said one more time for fun wont hurt over and over now she is paranoid and addicted and my sister is the same

you think once but do you have the strength to stop it the second time or the third ect
Reply:That's not so bad. Just watch who you hang out with.
Reply:The problem is when you do it again...you know how many people say they'll do it once and end up doing it many times and become addicted?
Reply:It all depends on what you are smoking. Most people don't do it just once. All I can say is be careful what you take, what you take it with and who you take it with. One of my friends died last Saturday cause he overdosed on some drug and alcohol. The people that he was with didn't do anything.
Reply:Depends on what you smoke.....if its the pretty harmless stuff...not much harm. I didn't think it was addictive. There are some things that I think are and I wouldn't ever try them.

Rubius Hagrid, Dobie the House Elf, and even under the name of Dementor of Askaban.

I've drifted away from the chat rooms lately, but I still love to watch, read, or hear anything about HP.

My favorite character is Hagrid. I think that all the kids are adorable, and I've really enjoyed watching them all grow up.

I once spent $30 at Wal-Mart buying tickets to win a lifesize statue of Dobie the House Elf. Alas, someone else got it.

Eye for an eye?

Why can't we go to justice being an "Eye for an Eye". I think criminals and sex offenders would stop doing what they do. I have heard that Texas, my wonderful state I live in, is trying to pass a law that sex offenders would be executed after their second offense of molesting a child! I think that is the best idea! This country needs to stop being a pansy *** and start frying these jerks that keep killing people or molesting people. They are sick in the head! Why do we need to keep them around? Fry the bastards!

Eye for an eye?
As I value human life in all stages, I cannot support the death penalty. I am a strong supporter of hard labor. That way, if it turns out that the convicted is innocent, and it does happen, then at least he's still alive and can be appropriately compensated.

For the record, I'm also anti-abortion (as a means of birth control).

Oh, and you're going to catch a whole lot of hell for this question.
Reply:I am for the death penalty but only for murder.
Reply:Lets see... FOR STARTERS, the "Death Penalty" is NOWHERE NEAR as bad as life without parole, you see, as I do not believe in an afterlife, dying is no big deal really, being locked up for seventy odd years IS.

PLUS, can any criminal ESPECIALLY sexual offenders REALLY be held fully accountable for their crimes? ask any psychologist and they will tell you that their actions are the direct result of influences in their life, usually early on. in fact, every action made by every person alive is the result of the environment and stimuli surrounding their life, from childhood till death.

so basically, just because you asked this question, I am going to accuse you of being a death mongering fascist. (the fascist is just for good measure, because that seems to be the type of people who say such things)
Reply:Really the most laws are simple and the full punishment should always be given. the only times, I think, bargains should ever come into play in court is when there are two or more criminals and one agrees to testify against the other one, not when he decides to plead guilty.

How can a man dance well at a club?

with out looking like a pansy , or a gay guy. this girl I know wants to take me dancing with her and her friends , I have never danced in my life , so wtf do I do.

How can a man dance well at a club?
My opinion is that I myself donot like to dance and believe me we are not the only mens out there that cannot dance well. what I do is get drunk and when everyone is dancing and I am already drunk who the hell cares. lets party sh#t. after that I want some s#x. And that is how I close my dancing night.
Reply:Do a forward roll on the floor, then do the robot
Reply:watch what other men are doing and try to copy them
Reply:have a couple of drinks then go for it, or alternatively pretend to be too tired and sit, u'll see how crap men are in general at dancing then have a go
Reply:dude, just get drunk and do whatever the f^ck you want... it'd make any dance move seem genius.
Reply:if she doesn't pull up at a club your screwed, there is no way you can drink yourself out of ball room dancing..
Reply:Get drunk first. Then it will come naturally.

Listen to the song CAREFULLY, it give you perfect instructions =D
Reply:Smaller steps and smaller arm actions look less dorky. Find a rythmic action that looks acceptable and just repeat it over and over, matching it to the tempo of the music. Occassionally turn to one side or the other to mix it up. Watch someone who is dancing well and copy their movements but tone them right down. If you don't know what you are doing, less is definitely more. Do not do the robot dance.
Reply:Don't go if you don't want to, and don't get into the habit of following women around like a pathetic puppy dog.

You should be the leader in the relationship, generally speaking and for the most part (not to say that you can't ever go with her to places at times).

I feel terrible about what I did to a friend!?

I took 6 cds from a friend because he owed me the cds and I didn't think he would give them to me or he would forget. he didn't forget and he gave me 4 cds and said he would give me 2 more soon. I didn't take the original cds as I was leaving his house I put them in a shoe box and in his tv room in the basement. I told him about it but I don't think he understood what I meant. I feel terrible for taking them in the first place. I have done a lot for him however I buy ciggarrets for his girlfriend, I always drive when we hang out, I invited him to a baseball game because I had an extra ticket, etc. What should I do? like I said I didn't take the orginal six cds with me, but I don't think he will find some of the cds because I put some in a shoe box, I don't know what I was thinking. BTW he is 17 years old and I'm 19 years old. I don't want to say sorry like a million times because I don't want him and my other friends to think I'm a pansy or anything.

thanks

I feel terrible about what I did to a friend!?
Part of not being a pansy, is being able to say whatever you want, unless you can pull that off your a pansy in my eyes.... SO GO TALK TO HIM ABOUT IT, just tell him, its proubly been long enough he doesn't care, or if he does he'll have to pretend like he isn't.... but part of being a boss, is you don't worry about what other people say, so you can get away with acting like a hard **** or a pansy whenever you want... get?

Is Superman REALY the greatest hero?

i know my first question was really odd ( i know) but i needed to resolve a discussion with my friends ( i agree w/ the majority: NO, THEY AREN'T), but now my friends think Superman is either a pansy Boy Scout or they sided w/ me: he is Earth's greatest defender. so , what do you think? Vote America!

Is Superman REALY the greatest hero?
Yes. In terms of humanity... he fights for truth, justice, and freedom. His superpowers defines what he can and can't do. How can he be Earth's greatest defender, if he can't defend the planet from a rogue asteroid? Besides, he doesn't just stay in the confines of his city to help other in need. if there is a tsunami headed towards Indonesia... he'll go there to save the millions of live at stake. Can Batman or Aqua do that? I don't think so! Superman has an enduring legendary status that has been around form almost 70 years, and the way I see it, it still will be for another 70 and more... because he is the greatest hero of all time.
Reply:No,there are many more heroes that are better than Superman.Example:Spider-man and The Hulk
Reply:He is so played out it is not even funny. Any Marvel characters could beat that solar deprived alien.
Reply:no, he isnt
Reply:In many respects, he is the greatest hero. Superman was designed by Detective Comics to be the ultimate super hero. He was in fact one of the very first commercially sucessful comic book heroes. He has really set the standard for heroes since he was created. Most heroes have one or more of his powers, though sometimes done in a little different way. He also set the standard of the hero having an alter ego that is used to fool others into thinking the hero is "normal" or harmless so that he or she can interact with other non-hero characters in a more normal way. Also to protect those the hero is most closely associated with from retaliation by the bad guys for what the hero does to thwart their plans. He started out as a pure hero with no dark side and who always did what was right. Some people think he is a pansy because they tend to link being selfish and even brutal behaviour with being a tough guy. Superman was pretty selfless for the most part and had high moral character. The writers made Superman so super in fact that they had to add the achilies heel of kryptonite to keep him from being unsympathetic. Heroes aren't very interesting to read about if they are so much more powerful than the villans that they simply crush them without much effort or risk to themselves.
Reply:no batman, the hulk, and spiderman can kick his ***
Reply:It was the guy watching were he'd fall to put down a big big airbag.
Reply:yes he really really is!
Reply:It's easy to fight crime when you're nearly indestructable. Batman is cool but Spiderman is the shizzle! Both those guys put it on the line everytime they go out!
Reply:!~ well at first i didn't think so..but then after he died...i thought he was actually was a hero ~! (^_^) and i'm sad now..abt him... he died !!! (-_-)
Reply:No I rrealy Don't like him he is a Fake
Reply:heck

yes he is awesome
Reply:I dunno about that but Christopher Reeve was fine when he was superman. R.I.P.
Reply:No way!!! Batman is the best superhero. He doesn't have any powers but he's a technology genius!
Reply:Right now the Earth's greatest defender is George Bush.
Reply:He has everything xcept the ability to do the one thing that is the true ender of bad guys. Kill. The "Identity Crisis" series is a great xample. If Batman killed the Joker way back, or even after the Jason Todd "death", alot of people would be alive today. If Spider-Man killed the Goblin, Gwen Stacy would be alive and the whole Spider-Man existence would be quite different. So the answer isnt yes or no, black and white. contact me at myspace.com/ramonmendoza
Reply:I'm thinking it's all about Captain America. I know he's a 'boy scout' but the Dudes been fighting since WWII. You have to get props for that. Beating up Nazis always gets you cool points in my book.
Reply:No Aqua Boy is so much greater then Superman, and what makes you think we're all Americans.
Reply:Hell no hes weak against Kryptonite, and he cant stop a nuke that will still kill him, the greatest hero will have to be Dark from DN Angel.
Reply:Without a doubt

Interracial question?

9 out of 10 asian/white couples are asian girls and white guys. you rarely see the other way around.

Girls, is it because most of the asian men dont' have the assertiveness and too pansy to start a conversation, or because we have very little chest hair and confidence?

assuming you are a white female, what attracts you to asian males and what dissuades you from relations with asian males (physicals andattitudes) ?

Interracial question?
I think there is a perception that Asian men subjugate women. Whether it's true or not is beside the point. It's the same perception that makes people think that white guys choose Asian girls because they are submissive. Again, i don't know if this is true or not -- just commenting on a perception.

But honestly -- what turns me off from Asian guys is usually they are shorter than i am.... i'm Norwegian/English/Scottish/Irish -- and almost 6 feet (and the shortest person in my family). So i'm not attracted to slight or slender men.

But Yao Ming -- total HOTTIE!
Reply:I think people need to stop stereotyping different relationships and play-hating the ones they see but take lessons and see that maybe opposites do attract. Be confident in who you are and open-mind about new things and cultures then people will see that confidence and see that you are willing to step outside your race for a wild ride.
Reply:I go for the masculane type. Thats hard to find in and Asian guy. So I stick to the whities!!!!!
Reply:I just don't think they are attractive, no offense!
Reply:usually, the DOMINANT world's DEFINITION in a race does not go outside their race.. for instance, white women and black guys - YES....black women and white men - NO. ... i'm not sterotyping -- i'm being real and quoting statistics.
Reply:Asian men are sexy :]
Reply:too small
Reply:i dunno i never been asked out by an asian male
Reply:men's assertiveness is what always drawls me, and their looks

plenty of Asian men are sexy, so that can't be the problem, work on your mannerism toward women
Reply:Well, this is what I have gathered from the Asian women I have dated and why they don't like to date Asian men. Part of it is the way they are treated. Many Asian men treat women like crap and like slaves, often insulting them, saying they are stupid or fat. Not all white men are better at that, but it seems they believe there is a better chance to be treated better by a white man. The other things are mostly physical. The majority of Asian men are shorter than white men, and thus, bigger is more powerful, at least that's what I have gathered from the Asian women I have dated (several, actually. I haven't dated a white woman in a long time and will never do so again because I am getting married to my Japanese fiance next year). The other thing, and I am sorry to say this, but the majority of Asian men have small penises. And though they may say size doesn't matter, it does. Especially to white women. Most women, especially white women, care mostly about money, so you may be okay there, then looks, then penis size, then personality. I am not rich and I am ugly, but I very well set in those other categories. Too bad for those super-materialistic white girls. They missed out on a loving caring guy that, well, anyway...
Reply:Nothing really, I've never had the opportunity to actually "talk" to an asian man. I mean they are nice people with a lovely culture. But I always thought they were the ones that never liked to mingle outside of their race and so I never went ahead and chatted with one. It could be that they are to quite and them not starting a conversation with us doesn't help!!!
Reply:I think Asian guys are attractive - I'm a white woman. I'd definitely date one, but the height thing could be part of the problem. I'm tall, 5'9'', and some - not all - Asian men are on the shorter side. Don't give up, though. Oh, and I don't care about chest hair.

Hmmmmmmm athletic question...don'... know which category to put it in?

I haven't played baseball since I was 13...I'm 18 now. I'm 6'4 190 pounds, and I played quarterback during my junior year of high school. I didn't have the balls to play football at a decent performance level on the field, but my arm strength is absolutely ridiculous, and it always has been. I can throw a ball so far, and gun it at the same time....short, long whatever, also my natural atheltic ability was second to anyone on the team, but no one really noticed cuz I was too much of pansy to play hardcore. Nonetheless I used to pitch and pitch fast when I played baseball but I gave it up...dont know why guess for academics. But so many people whether they were on my football team, old baseball teammates, friends i play catch with, tell me my arm is amazing. I hate wasting it, but football would never work, so I want to get back into baseball. I know I could get it up into the 90's after i practice. Is it too late, not to mention the college I'm going to is D-1. Am I fool to try?

Hmmmmmmm athletic question...don'... know which category to put it in?
Go for it man. You will need to build-up your mental attitude first no-matter what sport you pursue. So I recommend you find a really tough trainer and get in line. Then you will probably have success. Otherwise find something else to do with your time.

Husband retreats to his kids rooms with them when we get in an argument...?

We are a stepfamily and when my husband and I have a heated issue, he always goes to his two kids (14 and 15)and hangs out with them in their rooms - like to get away from me and he knows that I won't interrupt them... Is he being a pansy hiding from me? We have been married almost two years. I am happy when he spends time with his kids, it just feels like when he is mad at me, he is making sure I know they are his safety zone (you know, kids are there forever and wives come and go etc...) It makes me feel like crap! I feel dispensible and it hurts...

Any ideas would be great.

I have two kids that live with us too...

Husband retreats to his kids rooms with them when we get in an argument...?
Is he going in the kids room so that you will stop arguing? Possibly he believes you shouldn't be arguing when they are around?

Why are you issue resulting in something heated? Maybe you should bring up these "heated issues" when the children are not home.
Reply:sometimes we as men get to the point that when we get mad enough we will feel like hiting something. It of course is never ok to hit a women so we need to remove ourselves from the situation. Give him space.
Reply:Wow........how manly is that to hide behind his two kids because he doesn't have the fur balls to stand on his own........

Makes you wonder about the quality of man he is, doesn't it?
Reply:Why argue. If its so bad that he has to run away maybe that should be addressed. Some times arguing can be a sign of being unhappy by both partners .Think about it.
Reply:Idea #1...leave him alone and let him cool off...you cool off at the same time. Obviously, this guy does not like to argue..count your blessings. After you both are cool, then discuss, not argue what the problem is, how to solve it, and move from there. You have NO problem except he does NOT settle things like you do...accept this, he is not going to change, but you can. Good luck

He is NOT a pansy, he is simply ducking a fight that serves NO purpose except to cause resentment. Be glad he is like this, for you need to learn to discuss, not argue. I also suspect that your idea of arguing is perhaps NOT what you pass off..you may be yelling without realizing it. NO ONE can reason with a person who is yelling.
Reply:Maybe he just doesn't want things to get to heated in front of the kids. If that is the case, I completely understand and that's the best thing to do.

As far as "kids are forever and wives come and go"...he's obviously been hurt before. However, if wives aren't forever, what the hell did he get married again for? Just because the 1st one didn't work out, doesn't mean that the 2 of you can't be 80 years old together, sipping coffee on your front porch. Sounds like you may be dealing with some communication and expectation issues.
Reply:tit for tat. you retreat to the room with your own two kids too, or are you just the type that likes to draggggg an argument out till everyones throat is parched ??
Reply:Women are scary and mean...especially wives!!!!!!! I go to the basement and hide. My wife likes to argue and yell all the time and I am not like that. Maybe you yell at him too much.
Reply:Maybe he goes in there to cool off because if he went somewhere else you might follow him around the house still arguing. It could be that he knows his temper and that is his way of diffusing the situation. I think you are overreacting. Give him his space and wait until he has cooled off and calmly tell him how you feel.
Reply:He is a pansy that is hiding behind his kids....

Kind of makes you wonder if he is not in their room making you out to be the bad guy...

Talk to him.. Tell him what a jacka** you think he is for hiding behind his kids.. I can't imagine the tension he must cause with his kids when he does something like that...
Reply:This is such a familiar situation for me. It used to make me feel awful about myself too - like I was disposable. My fiance (we've been together for 10 years now), used to pick up his son and his step-daughter (step-daughter is from his ex-wife's previous relationship) every time we argued and disappeared for however long he chose to. The only thing I did was talk to him about it when we weren't arguing and let him know exactly how it made me feel with complete understanding of why he did it (and expressing this) so he didn't feel like I was trying to say he was wrong for hanging with his kids. I remember repeating my feelings to him more than once...because although he understood my feelings on it, he had a difficult time breaking the "habit". I also tried to change the way we argued. It helps to have resolution in mind when arguing so I'm not just telling him what's making me mad, I'm also suggesting how we can solve the problem, together.

It's a lot of work...but he hasn't took off with his kids in years. I think the first 3 - 5 years was the most challenging times. Strengthen your communication with your husband. Make sure when you run into a problem with him, you don't make him feel defensive and explain how things make you feel because this is new to him too, and what may seem like an obvious thing to you, it may not be so, for him. :)
Reply:You want too play the domination game? Repeal the rule against hitting women, then when you fems get hysterical and stupid men will punch your lights out. Whine, b**ch and complain do not like too get hit, too stupid too act like intelligent adults, thank you for the reminder of why there is not a female in this house.
Reply:Interesting you only provided half information.

If you watch some Dr Phil, he advocates someone to retreat as "hero" instead of butting heads until both sides have blood on their face. If you wanted him to stay and fight for a win/lose outcome, then his retreat was actually a wiser choice even though you were trying to make him a pansy. In a heated argument, there is no rationale and negotiation, both sides use emotions and nobody wants to back down. The third option is not to engage.

Your lesson. The way you described it, you are a nasty fighter because "you feel like crap -----". It means you fight to dispense your emotions and not to resolve issues. YOu have to learn to "fight" better. I actually think your husband didn't want to deal with that ugly side of you.
Reply:What a mommy boy he runs to his kids instead of working out issues the 2 of you have in the relationship. I wouldn't put up with that noway in hell next time he runs to the kids room i would run to the bedroom of a real man.

British Justice system?

Do you agree that Britian needs a Justice system with B***S make prison a punishment and not an training college for criminals, make em break rocks all day. And that goes for the pansy youth justice board who treat child killers with kid gloves

British Justice system?
I agree that something should be done about our justice system.

I think there should be chain gangs like in America, then they can clean the litter of our streets and it'll make England a cleaner and tidier place to live.

Also they should bring death penalty back for those child killers and molesters.
Reply:In terms of having a fair trial etc I think we have got it right but I agree the penalties need to fit the crimes and that is just not happening now. The perpetrators of crime are looked after better then the victims.

Reply:I agree with you 100%..................but it starts from the get go dont you think, I recall the kid that got taking on a safaria to AFRICA with 3 social workers to show him that things would be better if he behaved.......really pi$$ed me off that my kids worked hard at school, was good and did not get into trouble and the chance of me being able to afford to send them to Afica on a safari was nil.......seems that only the bad get rewards and the rest of us has to pay for it..........for instance did you know that they can get a OU degree whilst in jail and not pay a damm thing for it, yet everyone else has to pay full price.....I can understand them being given basic education etc if they fell behind at school but why give them all that stuff for nothing.

Rather like the justice system here in the USA where I live now, if you screw up then you go to jail, life means life and guess what they STILL execute people here for crimes.

regards

EDIT to Lae and Jase......yep they REALLY do have those clean up crews over here...........not a day goes by where there is not some group or other outside picking up litter and working on the gardens etc and it is ALL around the town not just in the pretty nice parts.........regards
Reply:The justice system is based on a penal method going back to the Dark Ages. In those days people were 'punished' by being put in a stock in the middle of a square so that people could spit on them or throw rotten vegetables at them. Punishment was very public and very harsh.

The problem is I feel that successive Governments have simply copied the methods of their peers and by a process similar to that of apes copying each other we have a system that has not adapted to the modern world. They think they have adapted it by applying the piddling science of cognitive psychology but in reality both sides are playing mind games.

By accepting the value systems they used in the Dark Ages and appyling the cranky science of psychology to it what we have in our prisons today is a population of misfits who are confused whether they are being punished or rehabilitated. The form of punishment is archaic mostly and therefore antagonistic and the form of mental correction can be temporary even when orientated by mind altering drugs therefore superficial.

What the penal system needs to break from is the idea of a moralistic divine judgement that demands a suitable measure of pain or discomfort i.e. exclusion or confinement etc and to embrace a more materialistic regime of punishment. Since God is no longer the centre of the universe for a society that has been sucked into the vacuum of humanism the best approach to penalty would be one based on pure economics.

Since the humanistic world treats each person as a kind of commodity to be bought and sold in the labour market why not apply this principle to punishment.

i.e.

In the event of a thug using a stolen car to do a robbery and ending up in court with a conviction. Instead of committing an army of head shrinks and counsellors to 'reform' his mind surely it would be best to present him with an invoice for all the damage and costs he has caused by his actions.

The victims would get immediate compensation because the Government would underwrite the method of collecting the money from the criminal. Included in the invoice would be the cost of the police and other ancilliary services used to catch the villian, the cost of the legal staff and the courts, the cost of his/her accommodation while he/she worked his/her butt off paying for the invoice. No freedom until the bill is paid in full. If he sherks, he stays longer clapped in the cell.

One could offer additional training so that after he/she has paid the bill in full they might come out with another skill but that would depend entirely on their motivation to complete the economic punishment.

The prison would be viewed more as place of repaying debts than of being punished by King Alfred the Great. The entire humanistic culture of self righteousness would make more sense in the context of money as the god of judgement and correction as opposed to the pretentious use of phrases like 'tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth so help me God' as the context.

This country's criminal justice system is a joke. The thing is everyone knows this and little is done to change it. The Home Secretary talks the talk but sadly does not back it up wih positive action. The government will have us all believe that they improved what the Tories left them. For me they have done little to improve things in the 10+ years they've had.

There is no deterant and no respect.

I back the Daily Mirrors campaign to 'Reclaim the streets'.
Reply:It's shockingly poor. I say bring back national service, the birch, the stocks and capital punishment. This country should stop being so wet and get a bit more medieval and stop with the pathetic 'human rights' b******s of criminals. They're scum! Who cares?!
Reply:I seen a new British prison in the news and they had telly's in their own cells for crying out loud!

We need people to fear prison.
Reply:While we have a Nanny state where the Justice system favours the criminal and not the victim things are not going to change. I can't believe the perks that criminals get. I don't think that the Government have a clue what to do about street crime, hoodies and the like, we could always "love" them as David Cameron suggested and I don't think!!!.
Reply:No deterrent = more crime.

That plus an overly liberal attitude has brought us to the lawless society that we now have and is why children are walking around with guns.
Reply:there is something about the system I don't understand. We know that the crime rate is dropping at the moment but we are also told that the prisons are overcrowded. They just don't add up for me.
Reply:Bring back National Service!!!
Reply:they are just training them with thought control by sitting in one spot, that way they will be tuned in so to speak forever with the master computer like NSA has here.

Its more difficult to thought control when moving around breaking rocks......................not as psychosomatic from the emf radiation.

Reply:Yes - in a word!
Reply:You could have just asked "Do you agree that Britain needs a Justice system?" because we do not have justice in this country. We have judges whose sexual predilections I now seriously question and we have long had to put up with the ridiculous situation where a victim can be penalised harder than the person who victimised them in the first place. What we have isn't a justice system; it's a flagrant mockery of ordinary, decent people's rights.
Reply:Yes they should bring back the borstals, like the old Longriggend, that would bring them to their senses with a bang.
Reply:i agree. they need to be punished..
