Anyone know of a decorative flower that I can plant outside right now? (I'm in the deep south/gulf coast)?

I'd like to plant seasonal flowers in my flower beds. I know pansies are blooming right now, I'd like to find a couple more flowers.

Reply:I'm in the deep south on the Gulf Coast too. I've been looking and they've quit selling pansies and snapdragons, so I think it's a transitional time into warmer weather plants (I'm new here and trying to figure it out too). I noticed in the places that I've been this week that there are just gallon shrubs like azaleas and hibiscus, Clematis and some other vine type plants out.
Reply:Pansy flowers do well now in the south and they are very colorful.
Reply:Why not see what is available at a local nursery or big box hardware store? They tend to stock what sells, and repeat customers purchase what experience tells them will work.
