Why do we as Americans care what the Socialist pansies in Europe have to say?

I see so many questions from Britts, French, Dutch and others crying about America's "Human Rights violations" when it was human rights violations that motovated the first pilgrams to America.

There is no logic to your question. Are you saying people today should stand by and do nothing while people are victimized because of what previous generations did? Who, then, would ever fight for justice? Certainly not the Americans, who burned "witches", owned slaves, and annihilated the natives. Certainly not the Europeans. Or the Chinese. Or the Japanese... Your logic leaves a world with no justice, just people standing around tolerating injustice.

Reply:When I came to Answers - Political and Government - I expected to find some serious discussion of issues and events. But I find it is the same old Internet slamming and insulting. It may be a good example of what is wrong with our system of government right now, lots of smoke and mirrors but little substance.

No, we shouldn't worry about what they think. I wish all Americans, especially the gullible liberals, would move to Europe for a while and see what's really behind all this anti-Americanism and criticism.
Reply:When you have the most powerful nation in the world, demanding that everyone else do as it says, OR ELSE, and that nation supposedly espouses the values of human rights, democracy, and freedom, but people see it consistently trampling the rights of people around the world, undermining democracy, and putting profit before human well-being, don't you think some might call it out on its hypocrisy?

By the way, the "pilgrims" were fundamentalist a$$holes who wanted to tell everyone how to live - the English kicked them out because they were stuck up, prudish busybodies who wouldn't mind their own business, and the Dutch hated them even more for the same reason.



If you knew anything about history, you would know that the English Puritans instigated a destructive civil war in the name of religion, murdered the king, and basically turned the country upside down. They banned sports and even banned Christmas! They required women to cover their heads, and burned books. A sort of English Taliban, if you will. Eventually the people got sick of being bossed around by the Puritans and threw them out.



The Puritans came here so they could bully people around without interference, then they immediately started massacring the native "savages" when they wouldn't accept their version of Christ.

Reply:it seems like you are a nationalist. as a kid one learns the concept "i" and as he or she grows up one learns the concept of "we". some get stuck with nationalism and don't grow to socialism. most likely their parents were into individualism and nationalism and they think of their parents as intelligent and a good role models. you or any one for that matter can't stop the evolution of human and/or it's society. it is better to move with the rapid rather than be part of the smelly and stagnated water of the river. your parents were wrong to resist the reality of social evolution! stop the vicious cycle . Europe has more history than USA and learned the hard way. many hate U.N and claim it is anti-American. USA has more influence in U.N than any other country. if U.N dances with every tune USA plays then it won't be called UNITED NATIONS ; it would be called UNITED STATES! right? the world should not evolve around any single country! right?
