No, they need to be planted every year. They are annuals . They like the cooler weather of spring and fall, they tend to die in real hot temps. unless they are in well shaded area. Sometimes a few of mine do not die off in the winter, but they are in a protected part of the yard next to the houses.
Depending where you live, they might grow thru the winter.
Do pansies flowers come back every year?
lots of times they do,if you have left the deadheaded flowers in your garden.they go to seed, and they will come back if you cut the plants back,and mulch them for winter.
