I'm doing a research paper on domestice violence against men and i was wondering if any men experienced this?

It is not uncommon for men to get beat by wives/girlfriends, but it's just not reported. I want to know if any men have experienced or are experiencing this and if any women have done this to their man. If possible give me reasons and if it was reported and why/why not. Men, please don't be ashamed to answer if you have, this doesn't make you a pansy or anything.

We had a friend who divorced his wife because she would hit him as hard as she could. He was a big guy and never hit her back. she had issues from her first marriage with a husband who beat her, and a father who hit her mother. my friend was very gentle, but enough was enough. He never reported it, he just divorced her and let her keep the house.

We had another friend who had back surgery and his ex-wife would hit him where the surgery had been done whenever he wouldn't do what she wanted him to do. She was just nasty. He divorced her, but did not report it.

Both men remarried women who did not hit them.
Reply:I am not ashamed. I could take my ex-wife out with the back of my hand. No problem.

She had a history of violence, I kept trying to get her to stop but she did not.

One time, she cut and stabbed me with a knife. I had her arrested, I got custody of my kid and she gets weekends.

She would rage for two hours at a time everyday. When she got arrested she was still raging from the night before about 16 hours straight.

She tried to say that she was post partum, but she was nuts before that.

P.S. Dont believe women that say that they are on the pill. They lie. My son is great though.
Reply:my husband had this problem with his 1st wife,no he didnt report it for the following reasons-1,he was embarrassed and 2,he didnt think they would believe him,3 being a big man people think he could take care of himself, which he could, but not without hitting a woman(which he would never do.4,retaliation.i find that most reasons although not all are about the same as they are for women.
Reply:I am a woman, but am answering your questions. I have NEVER and would never do that to a man, but i had a neighbor who did a few years ago. She used to hit him and drag him by his hair and constantly called him names. He was a lot smaller than she was and he just took it. I don't understand why he did...i think it was insecurity and his parents taught him to never hit a woman. One night the police were called because she broke his nose, but they did nothing. she got by with it. She said he had hit her first so they took neither one of them. he had never hit her.so yes it does happen and i think men let it because they are insecure and have low self - esteem.
Reply:Yes, I've been beaten by a woman, but the visits are getting quite expensive.
