I just read that they're extending troop deployments to 15 months. If that's how you're rewarded for volunteering ...
And let's not forget "stop-loss," the under-the-table draft that keeps people enlisted BEYOND the time they signed on for.
This is dishonest and abusive. The executive branch does NOT support the troops. Support involves respect.
Are U.S. politicians pansies for not reinstating the draft?
Draft is for when the military needs more people than it getting. At the moment they are getting all they want.
Yet i think we could pass a law that should have all kids when they turn 18 or graduate high school spend 2 years in the military. We do lots with them, inspect our ports cargo, gurard the boarders, etc... besides teach them some order in their lives..
