Why won't Obama go to Iraq?

Is it because he would have to admit how well things have been going over there this past year since the surge?

Or is real life just too devastating for that little office boy pansy?

Why won't Obama go to Iraq?
Because he would rather to go to Iran or Afghanistan to see some of his brother comrades? Or make a mistake in speaking to an audience over there 'off the cuff"? Probably that he does not want to face the men and women who have sacrificed and fought and made a real difference in lives of people and kept terrorists from coming to our homeland again, while he has only made problems and division.
Reply:Obama can not eneter the general election until he finishes off the primary election. He still havs states to campaign in.

This question is dumb and you are using the Republican talking point. The same point that led many of you to be bamboozled into thinking that we should go to Iraq and not focus on Osama Bin Laden.

Why weren't you all asking questions about Bush? White people always want to question others without questioning themselves. You all need to read Scott McClellan's book. It comes out on Monday. It exposes the right wing and their Loyalty party. Hold up we have some in the democratic party too.

Didn't McCain go over there only to confuse SHIA and SUNNIS. It was so Hillarious that he thought Liebermann had to whisper in his ear on camera. LOL!!!! Didn't McCain make that same mistake again when questioning Petreaus over here.

Didin't McCain have on a life jacket. McCain was surronded by at least 7 military officials. What a pansy he was.

Are you kidding me with this question, McCain went on the gounds over in Iraq to pose pictures only to come back and forget everything he learned over there and reject the GI Bill that would allow soldiers to get an education upon service to the military.

Now who is the pansy. He agreed to a war based on propaganda and lies. How can he look at those soldiers and tell them that they are fighting a war off of lies.

At least Obama can look at them and tell them that he want to extend the GI BIll, give more mental health services to them to reduce sucides and PTSD, reduce troop levels in Iraq ( which Petreaus agrees with), reduce tours of duty so that they can spend time with their family, invest in armory for the troops.

Another big difference is a president that will negotiate with the petty dictators, not run form them. Who is the pansy MBush or Obama?

Obama 08' or your facts ain't straight
Reply:Why does he need to go to Iraq?

It's evident that things are not going well. You don't need to go over there to see that. "he would have to admit how well things have been going over there this past year since the surge?"

You can't be serious. But I'm sure you are...Listen, We have been over there for 5 years. 5 freakin years and even the General couldn't give concrete evidence of ANY progress. BECAUSE THERE ISN'T ANY.

Yeah, I think maybe Barack should go, to reassure our troops that they will be coming home soon.

This conception that the troops WANT to be there is nothing but propaganda pushed by repub conserves. It's all crap fed to you in a dog bowl...They are doing what their commander and chief ordered them to do. Nothing more. Now, ask if the majority of them are wondering what the heck they are still doing there. The answer will be YES. They're wondering 99.9% of them are.
Reply:He is afraid to face the truth. He is afraid to look into the eyes of the Iraqis as they ask, "Mr. Obama are you really going to take the American soldiers away." As their eyes swell up with tears. He is afraid to talk to the US soldiers because they will ask "why are you going to pull is out when we want and need to be here for these people". Obama does not want to face the truth that we are winning and most importantly he does not want to lose the support of the hippie wannabes when he tells them the truth.
Reply:you say: " admit how well things have been going over there this past year since the surge? "

you must live somewhere in a cocoon , in a complete isolation. things are not going well. some weeks the death rate decreases and medias pretend things are going well, and other weeks the death toll is unbearable, but medias dont talk about it because it's not good for the moral of a nation. This being said, things are not going well at all over there. and nobody can decently see an end to this mess in the close future. I honestly do not know if we should stay or leave. But I know that what happens over there impairs badly our economy here . Do we feel safer at home because our boys are getting killed or injured in Iraq? certainly not. Get your head out of the sand.

Now for the question: should Obama go to Iraq ( and the question is valid for any other candidates), beside the fact it would show some support to our troups, i dont see any valid reason : that would cost more money to the tax payers ( imagine the level of protection necessary). and that would be a proof we cannot trust our medias ( which is propably true)
Reply:Choke some one who mentions the GI bill MCCAIN DID NOT SUPPORT!!! And said would reduce the retention rate in the military 16% but studies show a 16% increase as well in new enrollies making no effect in the military status? I mean really READ THE NEWSPAPER, WATCH CNN, EDUCATE YOURSELF. GEES, If people invested as much time in this nonsense in educating themselves America would be something FIERCE again. FYI He said he will go to Iraq just not with MCcain as a photo-opt !

Reply:Has it occurred to anybody that wants to know this; he's running for president of America, not Iraq...

As for what he will find there; do people like McCain really feel that finding things good over there--underneath the rubble and ruin, is really going to do much to change minds. In case you haven't heard, things are getting worse not better over there, as evidenced by Sadar City.

Why don't we let McCain be president of Iraq, because no self respecting "True American" thinks that they will ever stop shooting at us unless we leave.

For them to "stop shooting at us" is McCains definition of victory. What kind of logic is that?

It's no logic for self respecting "True Americans", because it's never been right for anybody to continue "Beating Down" somebody for trying to stand and defend themselves.

In the eyes of the law: if you travel far, and to start a fight at somebodies house, you are the aggressor. If we continue to stay in Iraq when they want us to leave, beating them down for defending their homeland. If you think like this then move to Iraq, cause this American doesn't think you know what American freedoms stand for.

I am a white, Catholic male, ARMY veteran of NATO forces, and I'm not afraid to leave Iraq alone--it's time to care for our own. And I'm not afraid of a black president. He at least understands how we are becoming our own worse enemy, and our runaway fears, have directed us to run away from what was truly American.

Reply:Obama would piss his pants if he had to stand next to those mean tough Soldiers over there. --Besides if Obama stood too close to them.......Larry Sinclair would get jealous.--- Also the biggest reason is that if Obama went with McCain Obama knows that McCain's military knowledge would expose the fact that Obama's military experience consists of playing Pac-Man as a teenager.---Lastly, Obama is probably concerned that McCain may do us all a favor by just leaving Obama there in Iraq.
Reply:Why would he willingly go to a place where he would be surrounded by a group of people that his party has insinuated are terrorists, he voted against and doesn't seem to support, who are trained to shoot people they don't like and all have weapons? He's afraid he'd be a target, but not by the radical muslims who are trying to destroy America or Iraq, rather by our troops.
Reply:Listen he needs to do his job in Washington and get off the election campaign bull crap he needs to give it up there's no way he will win now the shi t didn't even hit the fan yet so if he wants any hope in politics he should cower away in his office and shut up for awhile
Reply:Apparently he is going. You realize McCain had 100 soldiers guarding him when he took his "walk" through market in Baghdad? What a sham!

I'd like to hear about 'how well' things are going too. Have we seen the major political changes Mr. Bush guaranteed us?

Obama 2008
Reply:BECAUSE IF HE WENT TO IRAQ...

The American soliders would tell him that John McCain's Surge Policy has worked, and then Obama couldn't dance on soldiers graves anymore to make his political points about the War.
Reply:He is too scared. Not of the terrorists though because they have endorsed him. He is scared of a little thing we call friendly fire.
Reply:If obamy went to Iraq he would have to wear diapers.
Reply:yes he will ,, he will have to admit that we are making progress and he can;t do that for he is a pansy
Reply:I'm sure its the same reason you and I are not there right now. Why don't you go on a trip to iraq?
Reply:Because he gets airsick
Reply:what a tool
Reply:Because the troops dont like him !
Reply:Unless he plans to stay for at least several months and actually live the life there, I hope not; nor any other politician who should have more important things to do than make short, structured, and orchestrated symbolic visits that are just for show. This is not 1800 or even 1950; it is not necessary to visit somewhere to know what is happening, and staying for just a few days is absolutely a waste of time and money.

And speaking of pansies, Wasn't it Bush who flew into Baghdad like a thief in the night; posed with a fake turkey for a photo-op; and then got out as fast as he could?
Reply:Unlike McCain when obama went to iraq he wasnt fully dressed in Kevlar so who are you calling a pansy little lady?
Reply:he said he will go. just not with McCain
