What is up with girls liking jerks?

i mean seriously, i am a really sweet guy and am handsome and have all the qualities a girls likes (smart, funny, adventurous, atheleric, etc. ) but girls always fall for the boy who is a skinny 5 foot jerk that makes them feel like crap about themselves. im not a pansy either i do play varsity football. p.s im from a small school in rural new mexico usa (yes, new mexico is a state hehehe)

Girls like being treated like ****, because it makes them feel like they need to make themselves be liked... it's like a game of tug of war... if all the girl does is pull the rope, and nobody is on the other side, it's not fun... there's nothing pulling against the girl to make them fight for it (the relationship)..

Reply:First off always stay who you are never lower your standards for anyone it will not be worth it in the end. When someone truly cares for you it should be for who you are and not you trying to be the person you think they want. As for girls liking jerks, well that goes a long way back. Sometimes it has to do with the self esteem of the person, if they do not feel good about themselves, they seem to constantly fear being with a "nice guy" because they do not feel deserving of someone they perceive as having qualities they do not possess. They feel intimindated by someone who is nice, easy going, and handsome all in one. They feel this guy cannot really be this great and if he is then why does he want me. It is a nasty circle that many people men and women find themselves in. The easy way out for them is to select a person who does not treat them well, who cheat on them, lie, abuse and use them unfortunately until that person feels self worth they will continue to refind the same type of person. It is alll about valuing oneself, we are all unique and worthy of being loved and treated with respect by our mates or the person we give the privilege of sharing our lives. Hang in there handsome, you will meet that right one who will appreciate you for the nice man we women are always dying to have. I wish you well!
