Don't it drive you nuts when a bands music is really good but the singers voice makes you cringe.?

The music will be really hard and have great riffs but the singer sounds like a pansy. have any examples?

Reply:Getty Lee's voice (Rush) used to drive me up a wall. Took me years to finally listen to their songs. I was the same way with Jim Morrison's (The Doors) voice.
Reply:I'm just starting to get into classic Rainbow, and while I'm loving most of it, there are a couple of songs where Ronnie James Dio's voice just falls flat, for me.



I also have some problems with David Coverdale's voice on some Deep Purple songs, particularly 'Soldier of Fortune'.

They are fantastic when it comes to playing their instruments, and I could be a huge fan - but that voice... urgh.

Reply:Believe it or not, Ann Wilson, an acclaimed vocalist from Heart, is like that.

Sometimes she is just too much and it grates on me... I like them mostly for the instrumentals, sometimes it is better to hear nothing than what you don't want to hear.
