How many errosrs does that make?

If you ask a Christian why so many bad things have been done in the name of their lord, they will say the perpetrators (i.e. conquistadors, Puritans) were not true Christians.

And they also tell you constantly Jesus died for the sins of humanity, and that if you are a sincere Christian God will accept you in heaven.

Now that that's established,

Didn't anyone ever think that those perps were FAR MORE DEDICATED CHRISTIANS than anyone alive today. The conquistadors truly thought they were saving by enslaving. They were far more dedicated and far more believing than anyone today. You can't say those true Christians, the ones that crusaded and slaughtered, were not forgiven, while the pansies today whining on YA are forgiven. If anything, God would have welcomed Cortez, according to the fundies. They were true believers, right down to the last drop of blood. Proving Christianity is an extremely violent religion.

I know I know, it's hell for me.

How many does that make it?

How many errosrs does that make?
Sorry, I just had to get in on this one. The conquistadors did EXACTLY what you'd expect someone following the bible to do. So do half the modern Christians. They murdered innocent men, women and children, enslaved people, stole their wealth and condemned anyone who didn't believe as they did to the "punishment of God". The bible is a bloody book with accounts of atrocities that make most criminals look like nice guys listed for the holiest men in the religion. If their truly is an omnipotent, loving God, then the conquistadors and most religious fundamentalists will burn in the hell they are so happy to condemn all others to. As you may guess, I am no longer a member of the Christian religion (as most people know it) as a result of bible study and observation of Christian history and basic religious beliefs. When I reach heaven, I seriously doubt any of the conquistadors will be there. Of course they won't be in any hell either, because no omniscient deity would condemn anyone to infinite punishment for finite crimes. And your right, that the conquistadors had more faith than 99% of the modern Christians.
Reply:Neither the conquistadors nor the majority of the people here are true Christians.

The conquistadors b/c there violent tactics went against what the bible said.

The answerers here b/c a lot of what they teach contradicts the bible.

While a lot of mainstream religions can be called violent b/c of there history true followers of Christ aren't violent.
