He got them to sit in one of my decorative planters that sit on my front porch where I like to sit and read. My problem is that I think these flowers are supposed to be removed from the pot and planted in the yard. Is that so?
I really don't know much about plants. I like having them aruond me on my porch, but ususally I just have to water them and all's well. Any advise on these beautiful yellow and purple pansies would be appreciated. Thanks!
My son bought me a pot of spring pansies for Mother's Day...?
You can leave them in the pot, they'll be just fine! Don't leave them in direct sun all day (especially during mid-afternoon). Don't over water them. Let the soil dry out some before re-watering. As the blooms shrivel up, pick them off to encourage new blooms to grow.
Reply:It depends on where you live. Find out what zone you live in. Pansies like cool weather. They are also annuals. In some places you have to take them up in late Spring when it starts getting too warm.
Reply:Pansies are SUPER hardy. If there is room in the pot for them to grow, let them be! If they start looking leggy...long and thin, then just pop them into some well turned soil. For now, do not hesitate to keep them right where ds put them for you! How nice!
I love plants for gifts!
I live in VA and my pansies are in good sun all day. They do great.
Reply:Pansies are annuals(live only one year) They are usually cool weather plants. I live in Alabama and I planted some pansies outside in February and they died last week when the temp. got in the 80's. I would probably just keep them in the pot out of direct sun and they may live a while longer if you live in a cool climate
Reply:yes, you can plant them in sunlight(they do really well),water every other day
Reply:Plant them in the ground, they do much better. As the flowers fade, pick off, they will flourish.
Reply:Pansies do very good out in the yard mine come back every summer they will put out there own seeds and make more pansies. But they would do good in a pot on your porch also. Enjoy!
